This fine inside painted snuff bottle depicts a young noblewoman getting a miniature hair ornament from her attendant. She sits at a table beneath a large, round window. The string of amulets measured ca. 5 cm and consisted of a tiger, a broom, a red figure and mulberry, all made of green and red silk. Tradition was to throw the amulet away at noontime. The artist, master painter Wang Xisan, was born 1938 in Beijing. In February 1958 he started studying inside painting. His masters were Ye Xiaofeng and Ye Bengqi. He has taught hundreds of students and is the Founding Father of the Ji school. Height of this bottle: 6.9 cm
